Raisin-Apple Sandwiches
2 pounds sweet apples
1 pound sultana raisins
1 pound nut meats
1 jar of mayonnaise
2 loaves of white wheat bread
2 heads of lettuce
2 sticks of unsalted butter
Soak the raisins over the night in a cold water. Drain them well and put into the blender, blend until fine pasta. Core and peel the apples and put them into the blender as well. Scald the nuts- best working are the English walnuts. Blend the walnuts and mix with raisins and the apples. Mix the fruit and nuts with mayonnaise and lay them on lettuce leaves between layers of thin slices of the buttered bread.
