FRUIT GLACE
Classic American refreshment beverage, recipe of raspada- shaven ice with fruit syrup. sold before WW2 in American pharmacies. This is the original recipe.
To make this recipe at home you will need :
2 fl ounces any fruit syrup
1 teaspoonful of white powdered sugar
2 ounces of ice in shavings
a slice of pineapple
a rind of orange
a rind lemon
a slice of peach
Sufficient carbonated water to fill the 12 ounce serving cup. Same effect will be if you use the club soda.
To make this raspada- the favorite refreshment drink of the Southern California state, you will need to mix the syrup with powdered sugar and shaved ice with about 9 ounces of carbonated water . Stir this raspada rapidly with a spoon, and strain into a thin glass containing a slice of fresh seasonable fruit: pineapple orange peach lemon or a few selected berries of any small fruit.
