A Delicious Cream Pie -CLASSICS OF THE AMERICAN METHODIST FAMILIES

For this classic Native American A Delicious Cream Pie pudding you will need
1 cup of fresh sweet rich milk
1/2 teaspoon of cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
2 eggs
Cover the well greased baking tin plate with a crust and bake it watching carefully to press down the blisters. Cream One cup of milk heated to the scalding, add to the milk half of a teaspoonful of the cornstarch mixed with a little of cold sweet rich milk and a half of a tea spoonful of vanilla and one and a half teaspoonful of sugar, beaten with the yolks of two eggs. For a nicer consistency you may cook the cream in the water bath.
When your cream is cooked to the proper consistency pour it on to the crust.
Beat the egg whites with a little sugar and a pinch of kosher salt and spread over the top of the cream and brown your pie slightly in the oven.
ANOTHER NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN CREAM RECIPE
Another and most delicious way of making a cream pie is this
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
1 heaping tablespoonful of powdered white sugar
Beat with a fork or the Dover egg beater one cup of the sweet cream to a stiff froth with a pinch of kosher salt, add to the batter the half a teaspoonful of vanilla or other flavoring, one heaping tablespoonful of powdered sugar. Pour over the cold baked crust and dot the top with small pieces of apple, quince, or peach jelly.
