THE NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS RECIPE. FIRST TIME PUBLISHED IN THE AMERICAN MAGAZINE CHILDREN, JANUARY 1929.

Farina Dumplings
2 scant cups farina
4 scant cups of milk
1 tablespoon and water mixed 1 teaspoon salt
3 to 4 tablespoons flour
A little grated nutmeg
3 eggs
Put butter and milk and water in double boiler, when hot, add farina stirring constantly to keep it smooth. Cook it until thick. Then put it over flame and stir until it boils. Remove from stove and cool. This may be done in the morning. When ready to make dump lings add eggs well beaten, flour to hold together lightly and salt; a few gratings of nutmeg add greatly to the flavor. Drop by tablespoons into gently boiling salted water, and boil gently for five minutes. These are very light and nourishing. Serve the chicken fricassee in the middle of a large platter, and make a border of the farina dumplings. Sprinkle whole dish with very finely chopped parsley. Menu I,
