A Delicious Dressing For Thanksgiving
This is delicious dressing of the Turkey bird of our Thanksgiving dinner. The recipe is very old- sent to me by the grandmothers from the New England- real recipe of the first PURITANS AND PILIGRIMS OF THE NEW ENGLAND.
FOR THIS DRESSING YOU WILL NEED:
2 cups of the breadcrumbs
all the leftovers of the stale bread you have in your house
1 white big onion
1-2 sprigs of sage leaves
2 big Tablespoons of the fresh sweet unsalted butter
1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt= Morton salt will do fine as well
1 cup of finely chopped celery stalks
1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon of celery salt
Giblets of the turkey
A Delicious Dressing for the Turkey Bird from New England, This dressing is served over quantities of the stale bread, collected for the bread crumbs of the Thanksgiving Dinner. Chop your giblets of the turkey very finely. Chop your onion very fine and chop into it finely a few leaves of sage. Chop finely the celery stalks- proportions- 2 cups of bread crumbs to one cup of chopped celery. Grate the butter with a beet grater into the bread crumbs, or melt the butter and pour onto the crumbs, Mix in the giblets, the celery and the liquor from the neck and giblets of the turkey and two tablespoons of melted butter. Season with celery salt and pepper
