LILLY SUNDAE
The Classic Grand Americana recipe. The popular American ice-cream and family dessert was sold in all the pharmacies of the United States of America in 1918. The original recipe of the New England, Boston, and New York pharmacies. The sundae was sold in the pharmacies for 15 cents of 12 ounces serving glass.
For this original American classic ice-cream dessert of the beginning of the last century you will need:
2 ounces of vanilla ice-cream
2 ounces of whipped heavy cream
1 ounce of the crushed peaches
2-3 Nabisco fingers cookies
Take a tablesponful of two ounces of the hard vanilla ice-cream, scrape off on the side of a sundae dish so it erect and tilts toward the center a trifle bowl. Do the same on each of the four or five sides of the serving sundae glass. Fill the center space of the serving bowl with the whipped cream over which you must pour 1 ounce of the crushed peach and then stand in the center two or three Nabisco cookies- erect in the whipped cream, to represent the petals and the center of the lily flower. If neatly and daintily made the whole sundae dessert will be a perfect festive sundae, which will represent a lily
