MACAROON PINEAPPLE SUNDAE - CLASSICS OF THE AMERICAN PHARMACIES
The Classic Grand Americana recipe. The popular American ice-cream and family dessert was sold in all the pharmacies of the United States of America in 1918 all year. The original recipe of the SNew England, Boston, and New York pharmacies. The sundae was sold in the pharmacies for 15 cents of 12 ounces serving glass.
For this original American classic ice-cream- sundae dessert of the beginning of the last century you will need:
5 macaroons
No 10 cone of vanilla ice- cream
1 fluid ounce of the crushed pineapple
1 fluid ounce of maple syrup
1 teaspoon of coarse maple sugar
Put a No 10 cone of vanilla ice- cream into a sundae cup. On the base of the ice-cream, arrange five macaroons - right around the base of the cone- make nice flower petal nest. Over the sundae, pour a small ladle of a crushed fresh pineapple fruit, and add one ounce of the maple syrup onto the top. To make it looke dainty and festive- then sprinkle the dessert with a teaspoon of maple sugar.
