Christmas Penochi
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon butter
11/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup nut meats
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Boil sugar, molasses, milk and in a saucepan over the fire. Stir dissolved. Boil to 238 F or until little of the mixture forms a firm ball when dropped in cold water. Remove from the fire and cool. Add nuts until it begins to get fairly stiff , add vanilla, pour into pan and cut into squares.
