GINGER SNAPS
1/2 cup molasses
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup brown sugar
21/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ginger
These are an extremely harmless, but very popular childish delight.
Heat 1/2 cup molasses, 1/2 cup shortening and 1/2 cup brown sugar to the boiling point. then add 21/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon ginger, sifted together. Use flour enough, so that mix ture can be rolled very thin. Chill thoroughly before rolling. Cut in desired shapes. and bake in a moderate oven for about 7 minutes.
