CHICKEN AND EGG SALAD SANDWICHES - CLASSICS OF THE AMERICAN PHARMACIES

For this original American classic snack and the family dessert meal of the beginning of the last century you will need:
1 loaf of bread
3 sticks of of fresh unsalted butter
6 eggs
6 stalks of fresh celery
2 cups of minced boiled chicken
1 head of lettuce
1 cup of mayonnaise
Slice the bread and butter each slice with fresh unsalted butter. Boil your eggs hard. Slice thin half of the dozen your boiled eggs an the equal bulk of the thinly sliced or chopped celery( you can blend the celery in the blender- will save time). Mix the celery with thew and half of the quantity of minced chicken. Place the layer of the eggs on the sliced and buttered bread. Then cover with the green layer of the chicken and celery. Cover your sandwich with mayonnaise dressing and mix until all is moist. Place the white white lettuce leaf on a thin slice of buttered bread white bread for a closed sandwich. The white wheat bread is the best and for this sandwich.The salad should be spread fairly thick and generously, cover it with another lettuce leaf and the second slice of buttered bread. Wrap your closed traditional american sandwich into the wax paper to keep fresh for a longer time.
