EGG CHOCOLATE
The Classic Grand Americana recipe. The popular coctail sold in all the pharmacies of the United States of America in 1908. The original recipe.
For this original American coctail of the beginning of the last century you will need:
2 ounces of chocolate syrup
1 egg
2 ounces of shaved ice
8 ounces of carbonated water- club soda works fine
Beat the chilled egg in the blender. Add the chocolate syrup and shake the shaker well.Serve this coctail in a 12 ounce glass nearly filling the latter with carbonated water- coarse stream, and complete this operation with the fine stream. A small spoonful of the ice cream or plain heavy cream may be added to the egg coctail mixture before agitation of the whole coctail in the shaker by the hand.
