The original recipe of the New England, Boston, and New York pharmacies. The sundae was sold in the pharmacies for 15 cents of 12 ounces serving glass.
For this original American classic ice-cream- sundae dessert of the beginning of the last century you will need:
1 banana split along into halves
No 16 cone of orange water ice
No 16 cone of raspberry water ice
1 ounce of whipped cream
5 drops of culinary grade magnolia extract
1 maraschino cherry
On a split of the banana fruit place a No 16 mound of orange water-ice and one No 16 mound of raspberry water-ice. Between the stripes of the ice, put a ladle of the heavy whipped cream and press a few culinary grade magnolia extract drops into the banana.As well sprinkle a few of them over the whipped cream. Top each mound of the water-ice with a maraschino cherry.
