MAID IN ERIN SUNDAE - CLASSICS OF THE AMERICAN PHARMACIES
The Classic Grand Americana recipe. The popular American ice-cream and family dessert was sold in all the pharmacies of the United States of America in 1918 all year. The original recipe of the New England, Boston, and New York pharmacies. The sundae was sold in the pharmacies for 15 cents of 12 ounces serving glass.
For this original American classic ice-cream- sundae dessert of the beginning of the last century you will need:
No 10 cone of pistachio ice-cream
1 fluid ounce of a fresh crushed pineapple
1 fluid ounce of a fresh crushed orange
2 ounces of the spearmint jelly
2 shamrock sugar candies
2 green cherries
Have on hand individual moulds of the spearmint jelly prepared in advence. Place one of the jellies on a small plate and place at the side a No 10 cone of pistachio ice -cream. Pour over the spearmint jelly 1 ounce of a fresh crushed pineapple. Over the ice- cream you pour one ounce of a fresh crushed orange fruit. Top each one- the jelly and the ice-cream with a candy shamrock or a green cherry
