CREAM SAUCE

CREAM SAUCE    - CLASSICS OF THE AMERICAN  FAMILIES IN 1882

The Classic Grand Americana recipe of 1882. The traditional and very popular Cream Sauce recipe was recommended to all the families of the United States of America in 1882. The original recipe of  the Godey's Ladies Magazine.

CREAM SAUCE  

For the Cream Sauce bread  you will need

 CREAM SAUCE 

One pint of  sweet whipping cream 

1 Tablespoonful of corn starch 

Salt and pepper accordingly to the taste

Mix the corn starch with half a cupful of the cold whipping cream, and  bring to the boil the remainder of the cream, then stir the cold cream with the corn starch in it, add  the salt and pepper to your taste accordingly, and  let it boil several minutes. This sauce is very nice for cold chicken, for fish and vegetables, and is  also good  to pour around meat croquettes and meatballs of any type.
