For this original American coctail of the beginning of the last century you will need:
1 fluid ounce of chocolate syrup
2 fluid ounces of plain sweet heavy cream
2 fluid ounces of ice- cream
5 ounces of shaven glass
carbonated water or club soda
Shake well together 1 ounce of the chocolate syrup with 2 ounces of the plain sweet cream, add 2 ounces of ice- cream into the shaker and sufficiently enough of the shaved ice. Serve the coctail in a 10 ounce bell-glass while filling the glass with carbonated water or club soda in a fine stream.
