COFFEE CAKE
2 cups flour
1/2 tea spoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
4 tea spoons baking powder
1 2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 tablespoons shortening
1 tablespoon butter
A coffee cake which keeps remark ably well is made as follows.Sift together 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons sugar, 4 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Cut in 3 tablespoons shortening and add 3/4 cup of milk thoroughly. Pour into well round pan, and spread with mixture made of 1 tablespoon flour,1 tablespoon sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon with 1 tablespoon butter. cut into the mixture.
