Molasses Drops
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup of molasses
1 teaspoonful of cinnamon
1/2 cup of cold water
1 cup raisins
31/2 cups of flour
Cream 1/2 cup shortening with 1 cup brown sugar, then add 1 egg and beat well. Add 1/2 cup of molasses, 1 tea spoonful of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of cold water, 1 cup raisins cut in small piece,s and 31/2 cups of flour sifted three times with 1 teaspoonful of soda. Mix thoroughly and drop from a teaspoon on buttered tins. Bake in a moderate oven 350 F until done.
