Sour Milk Spice Cakes
1 cup sugar
1 scant cup butter and lard mixed
1 cup dark molasses
1 cup sour milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon of cloves
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
11/2 teaspoon salt
11/2 teaspoon ginger
1 cup raisins
21/2 to 3 cups flour
1 cup sugar, 1 scant cup butter and lard mixed, 1 cup dark molassesm 1 cup sour milk, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon each of cloves cinnamon soda and cream of tartar. 11/2 teaspoon each salt and ginger. 1 cup raisins, 21/2 to 3 cups flour. Drop on greased pans and bake in moderate oven.
