Apple and Tomato Sandwich
4 apples
4 tomatoes
1 pound white bread
1 pound whole bread
1 pck cream cheese
1 stick butter
Salt
1 lettuce
Remove skin from apples and tomatoes and slice in very thin pieces. Cut the whole wheat bread or the white bread into thin slices and spread with soft butter, on this spread cream cheese, then cover with shredded lettuce, on this a thin slice of apple, salt very lightly, then a slice of tomato, more salt and top with slice of buttered bread, and cut sandwich length wise. This makes a nice sandwich for the children's lunch in warm weather. It is also a good picnic sandwich. Alberta B Klinger Butler Pennsylvania
