Christmas Fruit Cake
1 cup of butter
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of milk
21/2 cups of flour
6 eggs
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 1 lb raisins
1 lb raisins figs
1 lb almonds
Take One cup of butter, 2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of milk, 21/2 cups of flour, add whites of 6 eggs, and 2 teaspoons of baking powder. Add 1 lb of each : raisins, figs, and almonds and 1/4 lb of orange peel grated. Chop the fruit fine, and sift a little flour over, it and add the fruit last. One cup of grated cocoanut may be added. Bake in a slow oven for two hours or done.
