GRAPE JUICE
The Classic Grand Americana recipe. The popular lemonade sold in all the pharmacies of the United States of America in 1908. The original recipe.
For this original American lemonade you will need
2 1/2 ounces of grape juice
or
3 1/2-4 ounces of grape juice
9 1/2 ounces of shaven ice or 7 1/2 ounces of shaven ice
The grape juice is traditionally served in two ways. It was coming to the American pharmacies already ready prepared in one quart and one pint bottles and was be kept cold on the ice. American clients were served the grape juice in two ways- either the grape juice was poured directly into a glass, and it was holding 21/2 ounces of the pure grape juice, or else this particular juice was served in a glass holding 31/ 2 or 4 ounces of the pure grape juice, into which was put a scoop of finely cracked ice and which is then filled with water.
