Brown Casserole of Meat
2/2 pounds of solid meat One of the cheaper cuts
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 carrots
1/2 cup rice
3 onions
11/2 cups tomato
Boiling water
2 teaspoons salt
Cut the meat in medium sized pieces, brown in drippings with the onion. Cook in the casserole with the other vegetables, cover with boiling water, put the lid on the top, bake gently about two hours in slow oven 300 F.
