MARMALADE PUDDING

 MARMALADE PUDDING - CLASSICS OF THE AMERICAN  FAMILIES IN 1913

The Classic Grand Americana recipe of 1913. The popular Marmalade Pudding was recommended to all the families of the United States of America in 1913. The original recipe of Marion Harris Neil, very popular use of the stale bread and the bread crumbs.

 MARMALADE PUDDING  

For the Marmalade Pudding you will need

 1loaf  of a stale bread or 1 of pound of stale bread crumbs 

6 oz of chopped suet

3 oz of candied orange peel

 1/2 cupful of  sweet fresh milk

 1/2 -1 cupful of  lemon or orange marmalade

1 medium lemon

To make this marmalade pudding from the stale bread crumbs, mix the breadcrumbs with the chopped suet and add  to this the strained  juice of the lemon, slowly fold in the marmalade, the lukewarm milk, and  the cold eggs, well beaten and the candied orange peel, cut into small pieces. Steam this pudding in a well buttered mold for three hours.
