Sweet Rice Soup
For this Sweet Rice Soup you will need
1 Cupful of Rice
3 Pints of Water
11/2 Cupful of Prunes
11/2 Cupful of Raisins
1 Cupful of Grape Juice
Sugar to Taste accordingly
Some Crackers or Buttered Toast
Wash the rice, soak it for several hours or for the whole night, and boil it for ten minutes; then add the soaked prunes and the soaked raisins with the soak water into the rice and cook them slowly, until they are tender. Then add the grape juice with sugar to your taste accordingly. If other juices are used, add two or three slices of fresh lemon with them, Serve this soup hot with crackers or buttered toast. Maybe eaten as refresher cold in the late afternoon, before dinner.
